This is when many of our international students choose to begin at College. There are many new students starting, the weather is warmer and there is generally more opportunities to make friends. Senior students are choosing subjects and most will be available as an option. We have our Athletic and Swimming Sports, as well as an Orientation morning to find out what sporting and cultural activities are available in and outside of College during this term and the year to come. An International day out to a nearby town for team building is a great opportunity for our students to get to know each other and some of our Peer Support leaders.

Season – Autumn        Uniform – Winter

For students in Years 12 and 13, our Senior Ball is near the end of the term and a great chance for students to get dressed up and have a night out. Many of our Winter sports teams are selecting teams and our local mountain opens for skiing and snowboarding. Bring a warm jacket as we head into the colder months of winter.

Season – Winter        Uniform – Winter

Because this often coincides with an overseas student’s end of year, this is the second busiest time of the year that students choose to start at College. Many of our winter sports teams have formed, however we will support students where possible to join a team. Unfortunately, some option subjects may not be available due to them being full, however we will try to accommodate selections wherever possible. Skiing and snowboarding continue to be available to students outside of school and our rowing teams begin to train for the season. A warm jacket is a must during this term.

Season – Spring        Uniform – Summer

For students in our senior school, Years 11-13, we do not recommend that they begin now, as most courses are completing their teaching for the year and students will be breaking for NCEA exams in early November. For senior students not sitting exams, we do offer a limited programme, with some fun-filled day trips and learning experiences. For younger students in Years 9-10, this can be a good time to join, to experience College life in a NZ school and meet new friends, especially if they are planning to return the following year. Summer sports begin with opportunities to play cricket, tennis and softball.
